Gender: genderless (it’s a divine creature so it has no gender) Though it prefers to take a male human form. And is referred to as a ‘he’.
Age: unknown. At least 500 years old.
Time Period: After the fight with Val.

History:

Ruruka is a divine creature, several centuries old. It’s rumoured to possess great magical powers and able to burn a forest with its breath. It was created by a renowned sorcerer called Haldaim. Five hundred years ago Haldaim went to some magical ruins probably in search for power. Only he perished due to poisonous traps planned to kill sorcerers. Ruruka ends up being swallowed by a dragon and remains trapped for five centuries until Val and Hall come to the ruins in search for the legendary divine creature to try to cure Val’s curse. They think the legendary creature is the dragon that Val accidentally slays but once it’s dead, Ruruka is finally freed from his confinement. The divine creature - very similar to a bunny – introduces itself as Lizregbel. Only Val gives him the name Ruruka, after a pet bunny of his little brother. Ruruka has a slight crush on Val so he doesn’t mind the nickname. It decides to accompany Val and Hall on their quest for a cure for Val’s curse that had him changed into a half demon. Ruruka can assume human form whenever necessary. He and Hall immediately take a disliking for each other with Hall constantly calling it bunny and saying he’ll make a stew with him. Ruruka, on his part, calls Hall a pervert and is jealous of his relationship with Val since he has taken a liking to the human. He’s disappointed when Val avoids any kind of physical touch when he’s in his human form and even asks if it would be okay if he had the form of a human female instead. There seems to be some sort of connection between Val and Ruruka, seeing as when Val is near death Ruruka also becomes weakened. He calls him master at that moment, saying that if he dies, he’ll lose his powers.
After a long journey and fighting whenever he needed to defend both his travelling companions, Ruruka is forced to fight against Val’s demonic form after he went berserk when he thinks Hall died. Ruruka gives it all he has in this fight – even being forced to change to its true form and use his light magic to harm Val - and nearly reaches his limit. However they’re able to bring Val back to normal.

Personality: Ruruka’s personality is almost the opposite of his cute appearance, he can be quite stubborn and rude, especially to someone he doesn’t like. He’s quite obnoxious and doesn’t hesitate to speak his mind. He’s also mean to those he doesn’t like, allowing a thief to steal from Hall while he slept. However he’s also loyal to his travelling companions, not hesitating to save Hall’s life (getting injured while doing so). He dislikes being called (and being treated like) a bunny.

Strengths:

Ruruka can change form at will, either to a human form or to his true form which proves helpful when a need to defend himself or his friends arises (for example when he has to fight against the demons attacking a village or when he is forced to fight against Val that went berserk). Despite being stubborn, Ruruka is very loyal to his friends, even to Hall whom he doesn’t hesitate to shield from the demons (however complaining that he’d rather have gotten hurt for Val). He stays by his friend’s side even in a life or death situation, not caring what happens to him as long as Val is alright.

Weaknesses:

While in his bunny form Ruruka is somewhat vulnerable. He is constantly ‘abused’ by Hall that holds him by his ears and shakes him. He also has short paws that don’t allow him to grab things. His human form, while convenient for things like cooking, making potions, etc is also vulnerable when in battle (one of the demons burns his arm for example). His true form, while really powerful can be considered a bit too large and awkward for battle, its many wings and appendages easy to hit if the enemy is too fast.
Emotionally Ruruka’s weaknesses lie in the fact that he’s too stubborn at times. His greatest fear is to be alone and that’s why he decides to travel with Hall and Val (having also taken a liking to the later). However he never tells him that directly, only through his actions (like hugging him all the time that totally puts Val off)
